Magnesium Glycinate is a supplement most of my clients have heard me discuss at least once.

It has such a plethora of benefits for a relatively cheap cost, it’s a no-brainer to keep in your supplement cabinet year-round!

Improve Sleep

Magnesium has a calming effect on the brain, which can help to reduce and alleviate anxiety and depression. Due to this property, I take magnesium at night-time, ideally about an hour before bedtime.

Magnesium helps to increase bone density due to its regulation of vitamin D and calcium. Between high-level athletes and average Joes and Janes, improved bone density is a huge factor in longevity and continuous movement.

Improves Heart Health and Muscle Function

A common remedy for consistent muscle cramps, magnesium can help muscles to properly relax. While calcium can cause muscle contractions, magnesium binds to the same receptors to cause muscles to relax. 

I take 400mg per night, it’s also a great post-workout to aid in relaxation and calming the nervous system.
